My Story
move-forward-and-up-about-kulas

Hey, I’m Kulas and I am a millennial, an IT professional, a musician, a migrant and here’sa brief story about me.

I dreamt of becoming a rock star

From the time I started playing lyre at age 6 to actually playing in a band, I thought I always knew what I wanted to be, a rock star. I wanted to play drums for a well-known band, do gigs and concerts every night and just live the dream. I tried, I won’t say I failed miserably but it would have been great if I was able to balance my passion for music and my studies back then. I decided to go to the corporate world instead of hitting the drums.

I dreamt of having more money and when I get it, I still want some more

In my professional life, I moved from one job to another, mainly due to financial constraints, sometimes because of my bosses, or because of asking for an enormous amount of salary and getting it, or just because I was bored.

Then I migrated

Together with my family, we moved to Canada. This is probably one of the best decisions I made, and if you’ll ask me why, it’s because I want to give my family a better life.

 To following my passion

I was a newcomer in Canada back in 2016 and with a limited network, few places to go to and with an abundance of spare time, I remembered my friend’s remark; “You could be a life coach”. Without any idea what a coach is, I started researching and found IPEC, one of the top schools for coaching and I enrolled.

I discovered that I can leverage coaching for my passion for helping people. Through coaching, I am hoping I can touch more lives and help people move forward and up in their careers.

My IT Story

I have been an IT practitioner for more than a decade and I can say that I always had a fulfilling career. I was also blessed to practice in Canada without having to go to school again. My career has brought me good life, good colleagues and friends as well as fulfillment.

Being an expert in the IT field has its benefits. Great pay, exciting projects and lots of opportunities. But also, a lot of stresses. Deadlines, overtimes, graveyard shifts, not so great bosses and colleagues, demanding clients all of which they say is part of the job.

Stress has most of the time made me angry, made me unfocused, unhealthy and it took me away from the thing that matters most, my family.

I always thought that working hard, earning more money and providing for my family is the best way I can serve them and by doing so I’ll be happy and be satisfied. I was wrong. It turned out what they really need was not the fancy clothes, the best toys, the best things money can buy, what they really needed was my time.

In 2016, I decided to pursue personal development and stumbled upon coaching. At first, it was just so I can become a better human being for the sake of my family and the people that surround me. That passion and enthusiasm to continuously work on myself eventually led me to my calling to help people become better too.

The Kulas now will always be a work in progress, but looking back 3 years ago, I can say that with God’s grace, I am making an impact not just to my family but to the people I coach and had the opportunity to interact with.

And Now

It’s my mission to help IT experts to develop the life that they really want and I If you are an expat/immigrant IT expert and would like to develop the best project you’ll ever work on, your life version 2.0, LET’S TALK! I’m excited to connect with you
